44’s Marathon man
The 44 office has been buzzing (well ok, maybe not buzzing) with talk of protein, cold baths and beetroot juice for weeks, but this weekend 44 partner Corin Ashby will be lacing up his running shoes to take on The Virgin Money London Marathon.
So far he’s raised more than £2,000 for the Elimination of Leukaemia Fund (ELF) – a charity that has been helping to advance the cure and treatment of blood cancers since 1977.
“I know the team’s eyes have glazed over more than a few times, but I’ve never run a marathon before and it’s very daunting. I’ve been training hard though and I’m really looking forward to the challenge,” said Corin.
“It’s great to raise money for ELF and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped me get to the start line – especially my patient and supportive wife Emma.”
On Sunday (24th April) you will be able to track Corin’s progress across all 26 miles on the London Marathon website, or by downloading the app, using his race number 38286.
You can see how his fundraising is going here.
“I can’t promise that I will finish but I promise that I will put everything into it!”
We’ll let you know how he gets on – good luck Corin!
