On Track for tabloid success

The challenge

Leading transport solutions company Siemens Mobility was looking for a way to deliver important messages in a clear and accessible way to a diverse workforce. It also wanted to celebrate some of the remarkable work going on across its teams based at sites across the UK, recognising the contributions of the people behind its innovative projects, products and programmes.

The solution

We recommended a modern, 12-page tabloid newspaper printed in full colour, which would have the potential to be seen by around 5,000 colleagues across more than 30 UK sites.

We guided the Siemens Mobility internal communications team through the process of creating On Track from scratch, all the way from planning through to publication. Together, we produced a print product that was informative and engaging – and turned around in a short space of time.

The results

We’ve now delivered more than 10 editions of the newspaper that have been positively received by the internal audience. Externally, the publication has been heralded too, winning ‘Best News Channel’ at the Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC) National Awards 2023, and being shortlisted in the same category for the 2025 ceremony. The judges said: “The team should be extremely proud of both the newspaper itself and their ‘on track’ approach as the news channel continues to evolve and go from strength to strength.”
