Helping police forces access an essential data system

The challenge

When the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) developed the National Workforce Data Tracker (NWDT), they needed to get engagement from right across their 43 police forces in England and Wales. The NWDT can assist forces by providing a wealth of knowledge, such as workforce trends, employee experience insight, data to improve attrition, alongside key diversity, equality and inclusion statistics. But, to make the NWDT a success, the NPCC needed to spread the word so forces could readily adopt this new way of working.

The solution

Working to a limited budget and with a quick turnaround needed, we tailored a suite of assets that were captivating yet concise for their busy target audiences. We carefully considered what each audience would use the tool for and, crucially, how it could help them do their job. Once we’d identified the range of key messages, we designed and constructed the collateral to introduce the NWDT and its benefits, which included emails, letters, briefing packs and presentations. Each piece of content highlighted how the platform could help with the various audience’s objectives.

The results

Feedback on the assets from the NPCC was very positive, and early engagement shows the interest and support on offer to forces has been landing well. The design helped the campaign stand out in a crowded environment and will enable it to be an asset for years to come.
