Case study: National Grid – Utility Week Live 2019

Delivering the gas network industry’s flagship stand

  • Co-ordinating a cohesive approach for the very first Gas Innovation Showcase stand, at Utility Week Live 2019, with more than 3,000 senior utilities professionals attending.
  • Bringing the UK Gas Distribution and Transmission Networks together.
  • Providing a variety of support including project management, liaison, social media planning and posting, design and editorial.

To help National Grid Gas Transmission join together with the other UK Gas Distribution and Transmission Networks to present the first ever Gas Innovation Showcase stand and series of presentations at Utility Week Live 2019. The topics covered ranged from how the industry needs to think locally and globally when it comes to sustainability, to what the future holds for gas and how network management should adapt to cope with a digital future.


44 was embedded in the National Grid Gas Transmission innovation team in the run up to the event to help co-ordinate the networks and ensure a consistent approach when bringing the Gas Innovation Showcase to life. The support ranged from assistance with the stand logistics and design, teaser articles and comms, to posting the social media content during the event itself.


We’ve built a strong relationship with 44 that really helped us to deliver the showcase, among other recent projects. This meant that they were able to take the lead on the organisation side, really understood the content, and took the worry away from me, which was a big plus.
