First place performance

Friday night was certainly the right time for Marston’s The Place, as the 44-produced employee magazine for the pub and brewery chain was named Class Winner at this year’s IoIC National Awards.

The 16-pager, launched in February this year, won in the highly-competitive Best New Publication category at the ceremony, which took place at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre on the banks of the Thames.

IoIC National Awards 2016The triumph was a high point of the evening for 44, where we were also short-listed for our work with clients Barclaycard and 2 Sisters, as well as being one of the select few to be recognised in the Agency of the Year category.

Corin Ashby, 44 partner, said: “The evening was  a great chance to celebrate everyone’s hard work and we’re massively proud of this recognition”.

Gemma Houltby, 44 account director for Marston’s, added: “We work very closely with Marston’s People Communications team to make sure that the magazine and its sister app constantly push the boundaries and give our audience a comms experience that’s fresh, exciting and different.”
