Meet editorial and campaigns assistant Tylah Mofford, 44’s newest team member. A recent film and TV graduate, Tylah talks about her new role, her dream dinner party guests and what she’ll be baking for the team…

Hi Tylah. Tell us how long you’ve been with 44 and what your role is.
I joined 44 as an editorial and campaigns assistant back in May, the week after finishing university. Having been here for three months now, I can safely say my role encompasses a whole range of things – and I love it.

Where were you before joining 44?
I joined 44 straight out of university, having just finished my film and television studies degree at the University of Nottingham. I submitted my last essay one Wednesday, and by the following Monday, I was in the office.

I spent a lot of my time at university as part of Impact – the university’s magazine – as well as being part of the student TV station. Working on these alongside studying media made me want to explore communications further. So, I spent my last Easter holidays searching for the perfect role. When I saw 44 was advertising, I knew it would be a great fit. The culture of 44, our values of friendship, awareness, creativity, excellence and teamwork alongside the diversity of clients make it an enjoyable place to work and learn.

What’s fun about the job – and what’s the biggest challenge?
My role is so varied – no two days are the same. This makes it both fun and a challenge. I love getting stuck in to different projects and tasks to help carry each one across the finish line. However, this also means that sometimes I don’t know what my day will look like, so the challenge is being prepared for anything to come my way.

What do you get up to in your spare time?
You’ll usually find me curled up with a good book and a film on in the background. Anything from mystery to fantasy to romance will have me hooked. And, of course, reading/watching snacks are essential, so I try to make sure there are baked goods in the house at all times. My favourite thing to bake when autumn comes around are cinnamon buns.

I also have a Border Collie cross Poodle called Buzz. He’s mad as a box of frogs and quite literally buzzes around the house, so he needs a lot of exercise and attention.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
I’ll take a couple more words and say: budding baker, dog lover and multi-tasker.

Which three people − real or imagined, alive or from the past − would you invite to join you for a drink and a bite to eat?
Being so into the arts, there are just too many to choose from! As a film lover, I’d have to invite one of my favourite actors, Emma Thompson. I think she’d be hilarious and have some great advice to offer up.

Next would have to be Lewis Carroll. I loved Alice in Wonderland growing up and when I read it now, I always wonder what went through his brain when writing those novels – I’d love to try to find out.

And finally, I’d have to invite the legendary Freddie Mercury – need I say more?

And lastly, is there anything special you’re looking forward to this year? Any big plans, goals or ambitions – inside or outside of work?
With a few big milestones having already happened this year, like graduation and joining 44, I don’t have much else planned. I am, however, going to Bath in a few weeks for the Jane Austen Festival, which should feed my inner bookworm. And my favourite time of year – Christmas – is yet to come, so I’m always counting down the days till I can deck the halls…
