It takes a lot of brainpower to run 44, and sometimes it’s best to show that off in a display of friendly competition. This month, we flexed our trivia smarts and faced off against each other in a charity quiz.
To raise money for Myton Hospice, our quizmaster extraordinaire Jo designed and hosted the eight-round general knowledge test. In two separate teams, we identified children’s TV shows (it’s harder than you think!), guessed how many peanuts make up the average jar of peanut butter, and answered questions about our very own colleagues at 44. Did you know that in the 1986 Halley’s Comet competition, one of our team members met Patrick Moore after winning second place? Well done, Tom Abbott!
After a bonus round of ‘what in a what’, it was a close one! The final scores were:
It’s been a long day: 84 points
Winning isn’t everything: 78 points
And it turned out that winning wasn’t everything, after all. Along with testing our trivia knowledge, we contributed towards supporting our nominated charity, Myton Hospice, which works to enhance the lives of patients (our first fundraising activity saw us donate more than £130 in a biscuit-based Bake-off). This time around, we managed to raise a fantastic £150!
Keep an eye out for more charity-focused events as we continue to help out Myton Hospice in the coming months. After all, we’re a small agency with a big heart!
