Victory lap

Months of hard training and pounding the pavements paid off for 44 partner Corin Ashby when, on Sunday (24th April), he ran The Virgin Money London Marathon.

It was Corin’s first marathon and he completed it in 26 miles in 4 hours and 10 minutes.

“It was an incredible experience. The crowd cheered us on and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute,” he said. “The first ten miles were great, then it got hard, and then the pain came, but thankfully I got a second wind to get over the line.”

Corin was raising money for ELF, the Elimination of Leukaemia Fund – and raised more than £3,500. This small charity does great things to help advance the cure and treatment of blood cancers.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. I really appreciate it and I know the money will help ELF to make a big difference to leukaemia treatment in the UK.”
