44’s 2016 in numbers
So how was 2016 for you?
For our part, the 44 team had another fun-packed and rewarding year working with our clients on their engaging communications.
One of the highlights was clinching the number one spot at the 2016 FEIEA Grand Prix Awards in Lisbon for Barclaycard’s The Globe. We can now lay claim to being part of the best internal magazine in Europe. That’s got rather a nice ring to it…
And as 2016 drew to a close, we learned that 14 of our entries have been shortlisted for the IoIC Central & North Regional Awards. The nominations range across categories from Writing, Design and Digital, to Best Magazine, Newspaper/Newsletter, and Video and Animation. We’re also up for Agency of the Year!
What other numbers have we totted up for 2016? Well, seven humans, three fish, two cats, two guinea pigs, one cockatiel and a couple of water snails all became part of the ever-growing 44 family this year. The humans are new members of the team based here in Leamington. That’s two senior digital directors (Tom and Steven), one senior project manager (Joff), two editorial assistants (Elizabeth and Lauren), one senior marketing specialist (Steph) and Coventry University’s most promising graphic design graduate (Ola). We also had to take over one new office in Somerset House while ordering 10 desks, 14 filing cabinets and one giant whiteboard to make them all feel at home.
We slept rough for one night to support the homeless, three of us jumped off a tower block in fancy dress for a client’s favourite cause, between us we ran 7.5 marathons and cycled one stage of the Tour de France for Sport Relief. Meanwhile, the 44 bakers baked 67 cakes, a good portion of which were sold to raise money for Macmillan nurses.
Oh, and we planned two weddings, four house moves and have one baby on the way.
So a big thank-you to all our amazing clients for helping us write the latest chapter in 44’s story. We’re looking forward to working with you in 2017 and making more numbers add up to another brilliant year.
